Dose silent reflux in a baby cause a cough and phlegm in throat with frothy texture in a 4.5 month old baby he's on losec (omeprazole) but i can't get rid of cough?
It can: Reflux in infants is a common trigger for a cough. The Prilosec decreases stomach acid and may decrease irritation, but it does not stop the reflux, it just makes it less painful. With time and gradual assumption of an upright posture for more hours/day, the reflux and related cough decreases. It iften peaks around the 4-5 month period. ...Read more

My 4 month old baby has had a cough and phlegm since i changed his formula a month ago could he be allergic to the new formula?
Probable: If the baby's symptoms started after changing to a new formula, the new formula is guilty until proven innocent. Although there are other causes for his symptoms, i would start by trying him on a hydrolyzed milk protein formula for a couple of weeks and see how he does before considering taking other steps. By the way, what was the reason for changing the formula in the first place. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

My 9-month baby starts to cough with some phlegm for an hour after her 1st bottle of milk. Also a bit of stuffy nose. No other sympton of flu. What2d?
Happy baby or not?: If a baby always coughs after eating or drinking, he may have some reflux problem. If a baby is normally fine, with no cough, then a little stuffy or runny nose is usually a cold. Sometimes it can be allergies, and it can also be a strep throat. A happy baby with slight symptoms can be watched a couple of days, and then see the doctor if not all well. The doctor might then do a strep throat test. ...Read more

My 1month old baby has gurgling sound when she breathes, its like she has phlegm, but she doesn't have cough or cold, its worst at night what could it be?
Can be normal: Babies often have a congested sound because they breathe through their nose and can't blow their noses. Your baby may also have some milk/formula in back of throat that she is not clearing or coughing like adults would. As long as your baby is not having labored breathing, and it is not interferring with her eating or sleeping, treat it as just a noise. ...Read more
