Depends: How old is your baby? The first few months of life babies can get many different lesions, most of which are considered normal and expected to go away if left alone. Newborn rash: If your baby is a newborn, then it's most likely the common newborn rash erythema toxicum. The rash should clear on its own. No treatment is needed. However, there are similar looking rashes that do need medical attention, so check with your baby's doctor. You : You can see a small fine red rash after a MMR vaccine but the rash you describe has occurred too long after receiving the vaccine. No need to fear the MMR vaccine. The rash you describe sounds like hives. The next time it happens, take a picture of it to show your pediatrician.
