Read on please: It is the decision of the OB usually, to minimize scarring, as long as you have healed well. The C/S site is pretty standard on the abdominal wall and uterine wall. College Fund: Save the money for your college fund! There is no evidence to suggest that these things work to improve colicky behavior. Anecdotally, I have found success holding colicky babies with their tummies down and palm across the belly, putting gentle pressure on it, at a 45 degree angle. Rocking helps. Unfortunately, there is no substitute for the human touch to help colicky babies get through this. ...Read more

Not necessarily: The umbilical stump is made to fall off - after it does there is often very little needed to facilitate it completing its healing. You can use a small drop of liquid soap (not antibacterial) to aid in the remainder drying out - but if you do nothing it will likely be just fine! If it is not healed by the 2 week visit - your provider will take care of the rest. ...Read more
