Seborrheic derm: Not baby acne, more likely seborrheic dermatitis (cradle cap). Use aquaphor to all affected areas and gently scrape out the crust. Probably not an allergic reaction. The good news is that they grow out of it. Attach a pic if you can :) ...Read more

Rash in newborn: ETN is not likely the cause (usually in first few days to 2 wks). Neonatal acne is common and generally starts around 3 weeks of age. Yes, neonatal acne can cover the areas mentioned. Another common rash to be considered is seborrheic dermatitis - this rash will typically have flaky patches as well. No treatment for acne, severe seborrhea may be tx with low dose steroid (ask your pediatrician) ...Read more

Patience: Your doctor is right not to be worried. These "baby rashes" go away over time and nothing really speeds that up. Too much meddling can cause bigger problems. Leave the "acne" alone. It will go away - it takes TIME. ...Read more
