My baby is eight months old and weighs twenty pounds. I was wondering what dosage of Infant Tylenol (acetaminophen) I should be giving her in milliliters?

4.3 ml: It is better to use a milliliter dropper in order to be more precise. You can dose tylenol (acetaminophen) up to 15 mg/kg. 20 lbs is about 9 kg so you can give about 130-140 mg based on weight which is about 4.3 ml by mouth. ...Read more

Sounds as if: your baby is also becoming ill. Infants under the age of two months with a rectal temperature of 100.4 or higher should be emergently evaluated and not given Tylenol (acetaminophen). Older infants and children can be offered supportive and comfort care with pain/fever reducers until they have been evaluated by their pediatrician. ...Read more

For11 lb infant, infant tylenol (acetaminophen) (concentration 160 mg/5ml) dose, is the correct dose 60 mg which is 1.8 ml ?

That is ok: 60mg is fine for that weight, but it's easier to use 2.0ml (64mg). An 11lb baby can take 75mg per dose, but parents should not use tylenol (acetaminophen) on a young baby unless the doctor already knows about the symptoms and has agreed that tylenol (acetaminophen) should be used. ...Read more

Is it alright to give an 8mo infant tylenol (acetaminophen) syrup just once a day at nighttime for teething pain and crankiness? For how many days can it be given?

Try teething rings: One appropriate dose of Tylenol (acetaminophen) a day is probably not going to cause any harm, but you do not want to get the child used to taking an oral medication when it may not be needed. Try teething rings. ...Read more

expected pattern: A child with a fever producing illness will run that fever in some pattern until the illness is gone. This would seldom be less than a few days. Acetaminophen is expected to suppress the fever by a degree or so while it is in the system, but it does not "fix" the illness. If the kid fails to drink well enough to void every 6 hours, refuses to play, or other bothersome symptoms, have it evaluated. ...Read more

Can you a baby infant Tylenol (acetaminophen) if they don't have any fever ?

Can you a baby infant Tylenol (acetaminophen) if they don't have any fever ?

For pain or fever: You can give Tylenol (acetaminophen) to anyone in the appropriate dose for weight whether or not they have fever. Pain from immunizations or teething would be examples of pain no fever. When giving Tylenol (acetaminophen), ask why you are giving the Tylenol (acetaminophen) and what is it you want to happen? If the baby is crying, 99 times out of 100 Tylenol (acetaminophen) is not going to help. As you already know, babies cry for a variety of reasons. ...Read more
