Doctor insights on:
Babies Born At 33 Weeks Survival Rate
Survival rate: More than 90 percent of the babies survive.
10-99 %: It really depends on how premature they are. With every week they stay inside the mom, their stay in the intensive care unit goes down by several weeks and their survival rates rise significantly.See 1 more doctor answer
Encephalitis: The survival rate is based on the type of infection and how quickly it is treated and then the response to the antibiotics. With present day treatments and early intervention the results of survival have surprising good.
Is it normal for babies to hiccup a lot in the womb? My baby does it a lot I'm 33 weeks and all my prenatal stuff was ok and his heart rate was 140s
Yes that can happen: And hopefully the cnadian system will allow u to have another us 34-36 weeks that is an important one cause it gives an est fetal wt, checks the fluid and position of the baby, all of my obs always get one at that time.
33 weeks pregnant. Feel like babies foot or leg was crushed by my ribs after sitting up too fast. Is this possible? It hurt my ribs.
Doubtful: Remember that the baby is surrounded by fluid, the amniotic fluid, in a large amniotic sac. It is doubtful that sitting up too fast would cause any harm to the baby, but it is possible you 'pulled a muscle' between your ribs called the intercostal muscle. Move more slowly and deliberately and avoid rapid movements!
33 weeks pregnant 2cm dilated babies head is low. I am in extreme pain right now. Feels like my lower uterus ripped. Is this normal? Cause of it?
Not normal: You need to get to the hospital now. Severe/extreme pain is never normal at 33 weeks and it could be something serious like the placenta pulling away or bleeding behind it. Turn off computer and get to er/hospital now!
Usually excellent: “Babies born after 35 weeks are only mildly preterm and usually do very well.” (http://www. Birth. Com. Au/premature-baby/survival-of-preterm-babies-gestation#.VVpX1fFdWM8)
Premature baby: The survival rate for your baby depends on many factors concerning your babies health and condition. You should ask this question to your pediatrician who can give your the best information.
Yes: There may be some problems with the lung development causing increased breathing conditions, like colds and asthma. However most babes are for the whole healthy born earlier. You need to talk to your OB and see if there is a way to prolong the birth for several weeks to be sure.
Depends: If you mean how much feeding by mouth, that varies with the premature baby's readiness to eat all feeds by mouth and weight at almost 35 weeks corrected age. A range of 2-3 oz per lb per day or 140-160 ml/kg/day should have your pediatrician's input to make sure the baby is getting adequate nutrition. Make an appointment today to ask your pediatrician for a feeding plan if you're unsure
Good: Nowadays the survival rate is quite good (don't remember the exact percentage, but it is high.
Different types: Believe it or not, there are actually different types of all, and the type a child has impacts survival rates, so hared to answer. Childhood all now has a survival rate of over 90%, so that is very encouraging. The very young, m though, tend to do a little bit worse. Talk over with her oncologist. Remember, though, every child is an individual, and numbers are just numbers - keep faith and hope!
Close to 100%: In expirienced hands, surgery for avsd has close to no mortality.
Husbands alcoholic cirrhosis is class B pugh child class. Does his survival rate change since he drinks a pint a day and won't stop?
Hopeless: If he continues drinking, it will kill him just as certainly as if he refused to leave a burning house.
I'm 33 weeks pregnant with just two small cavities in my two back molars, is it better to wait till the baby is born to fill them?
Talk to your dentist: Dental work can safely be done during pregnancy. During the third trimester you may may be too uncomfortable to have the fillings done. Talk to your dentist about the cavities to see if you can wait a few weeks until after you deliver. For small cavities it should be ok to, wait. But if you have pain or signs of infection you cannot wait.See 2 more doctor answers
I am 33 weeks pregnant and I wanted to know how I could get THC out of me and my baby's system. I Don't want her to get taken from me or born addicted?
Difficult issue: Stop, stay clean, and hope you are not already on the Child and Family Services radar. If you are a known abuser, CFS in my state provides a list to hospitals so the kid can be tested at birth. Low level exposure may clear from the urine in a week or so, but if they test the babies poo, it can pick up prior use for weeks to months.See 3 more doctor answers
I'm 33 weeks pregnant and I was addicted to lortabs but I've been clean for almost two weeks. Will my baby still be addicted when born?
Probably not: If you stay clean, and carry the baby to term, the baby will not have withdrawal symptoms when born.
At 33 weeks what should fetal heart rate be? I listened to my baby tonight as not feeling well, heart rate was 159-161. I am currently in Spain on hol
Normal: This is a normal heart rate. I am concerned about your not feeling well however. You may have simply over done it on the holiday so rest is a good idea. I can't say more because I don't know your exact symptoms. Are you monitoring kick counts? I often have patients lie down on their side for 30 min. At the same time every day and count fetal movements. If they decrease, you should report it.
Depending on timing: & duration of use, it may be found in your hair sample &/or your newborn's meconium, the 1st stool, It could've impaired fetal growth & brain development, especially if you also used tobacco, with ^ed arousal & poor quality of movement as a newborn, then persistent attention & learning problems. Seek addiction treatment now. Active users can't breastfeed or parent consistently & effectively.See 2 more doctor answers
