Patience: Baby acne is a common and temporary problem. It usually appears by age 2 weeks and disappears by 3 months. Keeping the skin clean is the major plan. If it persists after 3 months and or intensifies, some normal ace treatments can be beneficial, but the doc should look into unusual hormonal issues as a cause at that point. ...Read more

Will rubbing a pee-soaked diaper on an infant's face and/or tongue cure him of thrush and baby acne?

Will rubbing a pee-soaked diaper on an infant's face and/or tongue cure him of thrush and baby acne?

Not advisable: There is much folklore surrounding the use of urine as a cure-all, but little evidence of any benefit. Urine should be sterile and not cause disease, but there are much better treatments for both oral thrush and acne. Baby acne does not need treatment and will go away on its own. Benzoyl peroxide is far more effective for treatment of adult acne. ...Read more

When babies have acne will they most likely have acne in their teens?

Possibly: Hello, What a great question! While some experiences do predict future health issues, in this case it's not necessarily going to predict future acne. The mom's hormones are working their way out of the baby's system, and in the future the baby will make her/his own when puberty comes. Take care. ...Read more

My kids recently treated for scabies. Im worried that what i thought was acne on my baby may be scabies. How are they treated on babies. Shes 1 month.

Wait and see: The medicine for scabies is a last resort in infants. It's really icky and potentially toxic for babies, so the preferred approach for safety would be to wait and see if it's acne and will get better on its own. Good luck. Congratulations on the birth of your daughter! ...Read more
