B Complex Vitamins Adverse Effects
I want to know about vitamins and minerals that can help me to counter the adverse effects (diabetes risk) of aripiprazole 15 mg. I'm doing excercise
If one took more then daily needed amount of b complex vitamins ie by supplements , will there be any side effects, or will the excess just be stored?
Listen to your body: B vitamins are water soluble and not stored. Excess makes urine yellow. They do require activation in the liver and taking excessive doses of some of the b vitamins such as b-6 can cause problems. Some persons need methyl folate (folic acid) and methyl cobalamine and b vitamins that don' t contain these forms may not be metabolized normally. Vit c with bioflavanoids and vit d3 may be needed as well. ...Read more

I do not believe so: There are no side effects to this medications as long as you follow the proper dose recommended. ...Read more
Depends: Although b vitamins are water soluble, which means you don't store them, excessive amounts are not recommended. Instead eat green, cruciferous vegetables and wild fish like salmon to get all the b vitamins you need. ...Read more
Use as directed: Such supplements from a well-trusted source, used as directed, can not hurt and might be of help. B's are very important to nervous system function and if you find they do some good, that's the important thing. Diminishing returns: Not really. That is a lot of unnecessary strain on your liver and GI system. No one in america with otherwise good health needs more than one of these. It is very true in medicine that more is usually not better. ...Read more
depends: The liver needs to phosphorylate the b vitamins so it is not wise to take more than 50 mg of thiamine, riboflavin, or b-6 at one time. If one takes them apart that would not be an issue but some people do not react well to b vitamins that elevated histamine like Folic Acid and b-12. B-12 can feed bacteria which can be a problem for acne, uti's or sinus infections. ...Read more
Usually: But check the label to make sure that all eight b vitamins are included: vitamin b1 (thiamine) vitamin b2 (riboflavin) vitamin b3 (niacin or niacinamide) vitamin b5 (pantothenic acid) vitamin b6 (pyridoxine, pyridoxal, or pyridoxamine, or pyridoxine hydrochloride) vitamin b7 (biotin) vitamin B9 (folic acid) vitamin B12 (various cobalamins; commonly Cyanocobalamin in. ...Read more
Yes; having all : By definition, b complex contains all of the b vitamins. In this case "complex" means "made up of inter-related parts" like the military-industrial complex. Out bodies need to convert some b's to the active form, like b6 to pyridoxal-5-phosphate and Folic Acid to 5-mthf. The best quality b complexes contain some of the "activated" forms as some people don't readily make the conversions! ...Read more

I started using the tablets hairfinity today.. They have all sorts of vitamins in it. I'm wondering if I should stop my vitamin D3 and b complex?
Read labels: If hairfinity is duplicating the vitamins you are currently taking it makes sense to stop them while you are trying out hairfinity. Since you had kidney stones don't take calcium supplements and be sure to take vit k2 at least 100mcg a day to keep calcium in bones and teeth out of soft tissue and kidney stones. ...Read more
R u zinc deficient?: Often if someone is supplementing with zinc, they need to see what their copper levels are too, since copper is supplemented at 1/10 the dose of zinc, and often what you find in your multivitamin can be sufficient. That goes along with B vitamins. So, there shouldn't be a problem if taking them together too. Have a SpectraCell micronutrient panel done to see if you need all that zinc first. ...Read more
Not likely unless...: Unless you're truly deficient, it's not likely that you'll find much benefit from b complex vitamins. Sure we look for B12 & folate (folic acid) deficiency in alzheimer's dementia, but I have yet to correct someone's levels & return their thinking process. If you drink alcohol to excess & forgo proper balanced nutrition, you can run low on b vitamins for which extra might be useful but this is pretty rare. ...Read more
Likely yes; however: There is no harm in taking them together; however, b vitamins are commonly nauseating. Therefore, taking them together may increase the risk of nausea. I would suggest taking them at different times to prevent nausea and to minimize a large peak of b vitamins. Several smaller doses make the vitamin available throughout the day. ...Read more
