I take 6 different vitamins daily. Is that bad? Or is it too much? I feel like I need them all (vitamin c, e, b12, b-complex, glucosamine, &multivitamins)
Maybe: A good multivitamin will include c, e, b12, and b-complex so you are probably taking a lot of the same (and spending a lot of money... Vitamins are not cheap!). Glucosamine is good but you are too young to need it. If you feel like you need them, I would spend on a good multivitamin that has all that you need. I personally prefer to get vitamins from fresh foods as they are better absorbed. ...Read more

Letting hair air dry with a "curl activator" product will give you your best look. These products contain silicone for shine! Thanks for using Healthtap! ...Read more

Is it possible for vitamin C in orange juice and ascorbic acid to effect blood pressure medication?
Yes and no: Vit c in normal doses does not impact BP meds. Orange juice and other sweet liquids (all juice, soda, gatorade, etc) will increase your blood pressure — this will cause a relative decrease in the effectiveness of your meds. Liquids with over 10 cal/serving (except non-fat milk in moderation) are not good for you. Sweets in liquid form increase blood fats, belly fat & ultimately blood pressure. ...Read more

Helpful, not harmful:
Vitamin C protects against cardiovascular disease and increases longevity. I recommend everyone take 500-2000 mg of Vit C 2x/day. See http://bit.ly/1fZ7IWk
Zinc deficiency is very common (over 40% of Americans are deficient) and taking zinc has many benefits, though too much can have adverse effects. Doses of 15-30 mg are safe.
