Azo Test Strips Medication
Don't think so: What was your test positive for? Azo is both a commonly used name for a medication used to reduce pain of urinary tract infection, and which also can turn urine orange and stain things, and the name of a company that makes several products. Methadone programs are required to do confirmatory tests for positive screens, and you should ask for that, if you haven't used other drugs. ...Read more
At two minute mark my Azo UTI strip showed "trace" color for leu. a few minutes later was darker. Which is correct? the test says its ready in two.
Urinary test WBCs: You probably have some trace leukocytes there but what you observe is the test strip "keeps reacting" after the 2 min mark, so it looks "more positive" than it is. Best to follow the test instructions exactly. White blood cells (WBCs) could indicate a urinary tract infection so you should probably see a doctor about it. ...Read more
AZO strips test positive for uti but the only pain is on the left, not right. Pain comes in waves from posterior (kidney?) to low anterior
Kidney infection: It sounds like you may actually have a kidney infection rather than a simple bladder infection. With a kidney infection, the pain can be more localized to one side especially on your back. You should see a doctor right away, as you will need antibiotics to treat this. ...Read more
Have hematuria. Used OTC "azo test strips" to confirm uti. Do i need go dr for med or do OTC med help? It'll b few days b4 can c dr is that k?
I have 500+ on the Azo urine test strip, negative for the nitrite.Have had a low fever ranging from 99.0-100.3 for the last 2 weeks. What could it be?
UrineUrineEverywhere: There are lots of opinions about discrepancies between the Nitrite and Leukocyte parts of the urine test. But here's my take: if you have symptoms and either or both is positive then it's most likely a UTI; both negative, repeat the test in a day and if still negative, ask your doctor. No symptoms then don't take the test just for "fun." You may end up getting confused and wasting a lot of time. ...Read more
I had a random drug test because I am in a pain contract. A few days before, I had a UTI and had been using AZO tabs. The doctor will not refill my?
Here are some...: If urine test is the must step before refilling pain med for your essential long-term pain control, you have be off AZO for 3-5 days so not to taint testing since AZO is not antibiotics. On the other hand, for someone with high trustworthiness, a doctor may refill pain med after properly documenting no clinical abuse of pain medication, which has become socially epidemic among many pain med users. ...Read more
I keep testng pos for WBCs on azo test strips even after two days of Cipro (ciprofloxacin). (Neg for nitrites). No pain &no urine odor. Could this be smthng serious?
Doubt UTI. STD?: Without pain, urgency, or frequency, and with negative nitrites and non-response to ciprofloxacin, probably not a urinary tract infection. Maybe WBC test (leukocyte esterase) isn't working right. Or not clean urine (vaginal WBC?). Yeast? Depending on your risk for STD, it could be gonorrhea, chlamydia, trichomonas, yeast. Or something else entirely. Best to stop cipro and contact your doctor. ...Read more
Do I have a UTI or STD I have no symptoms but I been getting a lot testical pain I took a Azo test strip and I got leukocytespositive andNitrite neg?
Go see your doctor: You're a young male and have testicular pain - go and see your doctor. Leukocyte positive can be from UTI or STI as you said - nitrite can be falsely negative in UTI; so no one online can give you a definitive answer. So short answer - again, go see your doctor - especially since you're having testicular pain. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Took an Azo test strip positive for leukocytes completely negative for nitrate. Frequent urge to pee and pressure felt in uretha. Uti?
Possible UTI: Clinical symptoms of a urinary tract infection include the urge to urinate frequently and pain with urination. If the azo test strip is positive for leukocytes, this indicates the presence of white blood cells in the urine in response to a urinary tract infection. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I took @ home AZO urine strip TEST showed hint of purple on leukocyte and neg.on nitrite. Do I need Doc or am I ok. And could it be BV or YI back pain?
Urine: as the nitrite is negative you do not have an infection one can see white cells from the skin that get into the urine which can show up positive you do not need to see anybody at this time but if you develop increased frequency, burning on urination or flank pain please see your primary care ...Read more
Urge to urinate for a few weeks now, but no other UTI symptoms. AZO test strips test positive for WBC & nitrites. Is it more likely a UTI or an STD?
UTI is more likely: Gonorrhea or chlamydia can mimic some UTI symptoms, but usually this would be burning on urination; urgency alone is more likely bladder inflammation due to UTI, especially for "a few weeks" and with positive nitrite and leukocyte esterase. See a doctor soon: you need a formal urinalysis, probably a urine culture, STD testing since it's on your mind, and probably an antibiotic prescription. ...Read more
Is it okay to take Azo pills for penile yeast infection? Which medication is recommended for that kind of thing?
Besides azo, what otc oral medications can i take for a yeast infection caused by antibiotic use?
Azo won't prevent: a yeast infection, altho oral probiotics MAY lessen the chance of antibiotic-associated diarrhea. Bacteria from the digestive tract are the most common cause of UTI's. If diarrhea facilitates the introduction of bacteria into the urinary tract, preventing antibiotic-associated diarrhea could theoretically help prevent UTIs. Dr. Anne ...Read more
It will not...: Attempting to foil a drug screen will just add misery for you--your employer or whoever is requesting the drug screen will see you not just a dope but also a liar (trying to hide/sabotage your drug test). So, it is better to come clean. If you have a problem, ask for help and you will get more respect that way. Be good. Be sober. Be drug-free. Be respected. Good luck. ...Read more
