Azmacort Allergy In Children
I am using Triamcinolone Acetonide inj 1 ml (40mg) for skin allergy. After how much gap I can use again. Do I need to take any antibiotic with it?
As infrequent as. ..: But it will likely be ok if you get 40 mg intralesionally once every 3 or 4 months. Do note that some of the side effects from steroid exposure are dependent on total cumulative exposure and thus the total amount received over time does matter. ...Read more

How can I get tested for an allergy if I can't be off prednisone long enough to have my system clear out? I recently got bronchitis. Doc put me on tessalon & an azmacort inhaler. The next day, I had hives. The next day, worse. Next day hives & swollen lips
No need: What you are describing is not necessarily an allergy. Some individuals develop hives when they acquire a viral infection. Allergy testing is of no value in this case. You can always have a rast blood test, which is inferior to the skin test, but I still do not see the need for it in your case. The hives should subside once the infection resolves. ...Read more
Can I use nystatin and triamcinolone acetonide cream to treat a rash caused by allergy to roaches?
Depends: Nystatin is used to treat fungal infections. Triamcinolone is topical steroid, which is used to treat eczema or allergic contact dermatitis type reactions. No reason to. ..: Azmacort is a triamcinolone (a synthetic steroid) aerosol inhalor, so there's no reason to cause hesitancy. Both: Both are steriod inhalers. They are different steriods. Azmacort (triamcinolone), (triamcinolone) an old formulation, has an attached tube that acts like an aerochamber while Flovent can come as a diskus which is breath activated-ie- you need to inhale the medication and it is dependent on how you inhale or in an hfa formulation which has a propellent to push the medication out. I am not aware that Azmacort (triamcinolone) is still on the market. ...Read more
Mild side effects: When Azmacort (triamcinolone) is used for treatment of asthma in the recommended dosage of 2 inhalations 3 to 4 times/day, the breathing capacity increases over a period of 3 to 6 weeks. Mild side effects: When used properly and in recommended dosages the side effects of Azmacort (triamcinolone) are minimal. Compared to placebo, there is a higher occurrence of sore throat. This can best be avoided by rinsing the mouth and throat after use. Oral candidiasis (yeast infection in mouth) can occur if you do not rinse mouth after each use. These side effects are mild and easily controlled. ...Read more
Very bad idea: It will make the redness and swelling go away by stopping the neutrophils from fighting the bacteria that cause acne. It will promote the same skin changes that trigger acne at puberty. Using this stuff on your face over time is likely to scar you by itself. Please get with a competent physician instead of experimenting with prescription-strength medications. ...Read more
