I have the Skyla IUD and before that was on Micronor (norethindrone). In2013 I was 88 lbs in 2014 I was 83 lbs. Could weight loss be because of the hormone progestin?

No: There is no established relationship between progestins and weight changes, especially weight loss. There is anecdotal evidence that progestin "may" cause weight gain, so weight loss is virtually impossible. Hope this helps. ...Read more

Sorry: Not really anything to prevent polyps that I know of. Progesterone can help control the bleeding that occurs with them , sometimes. Otherwise, surgical removal would be an alternative. If that is mot an option and your are finished having children, a hysterectomy is definitive. Good luck. ...Read more
