It may not return: It may not return to normal size after the infection, but you need to be certain the infection is gone. Uncertain how the numbness fits in. was it numb during the infections. What type of infection is important also. You need to discuss this with your physician. ...Read more

Dont assume cancer: never make assumptions regarding cancer...you are right to be concerned and you should pursue further work-up...this will include a history and complete exam with possible further x-rays....the enlarged nodes could represent infection and not cancer...be prepared for biopsy to make final diagnosis ...Read more

maybe: The lower limit of detection for pet scan is ~1cm. The lung nodules are too small but the axillary lymph node should be large enough for pet scan to detect if there is increased metabolic activity. ...Read more

No: If the lymph nodes are normal sized and have been stable in size over a long period of time (>1year), then continue yearly mammograms. It is important to perform your own breast self exam monthly. Be sure to check under the armpit, which is where the lymph nodes are, and squeeze the nipple to check for discharge. ...Read more

On ultrasound they found a subcentimeter non enlarged lymph node on my right axilla?

This is quite small: Lymph nodes are normally present in the axila. As long as they are under one Cm in size, they are considered benign and are not of much concern. Why did you have this test done in the first place??? ...Read more

Need follow up: By your doctor , if it is in axilla it is most likely a lymph node , ( where they are supposed to be and normal ) some times breast tissue will have lymph nodes which need closes follow up , to rule out it is not some thing serious , go to your doctor for regular follow up. ...Read more
