Is eating organic a way to avoid pesticides in produce? Does that mean that organic foods would have more germs without the pesticides?

Is eating organic a way to avoid pesticides in produce? Does that mean that organic foods would have more germs without the pesticides?

YES, no more "germs": Pesticides do not protect against germs; they protect plants from being eaten by insects. Organic foods have no more germs than conventional food but much lower levels of pesticides. Organic growers use other techniques including natural pesticides to protect plants. Organic plants also produce more natural defense chemicals and phytonutrients which are healthy to eat. See comment for more: ...Read more

Is there any food or supplement that can cleanse your body of pesticides and food related toxins?

Is there any food or supplement that can cleanse your body of pesticides and food related toxins?

No: Put your hand over your wallet. Your body cleans itself out especially if you stay physically fit. All the stuff you read online about 'superfoods' to 'cleanse you' or godawful things you can drink to 'purge / detox' you is made up. Some of these are just money-makers for crooks. Others (especially the terrible drinks) are cruel pranks. There's nothing 'spiritual' about buying into scare tales. ...Read more

Organic Means More!: To be certified organic, a food or fiber must meet strict rules that include being grown without the use of toxic synthetic pesticides, antibiotics, artificial hormones, chemical fertilizers, and genetic modification.
