Would accidently inhaling pesticides and herbicides on your farm as a kid cause any type of health risks?

Would accidently inhaling pesticides and herbicides on your farm as a kid cause any type of health risks?

Some raise risk.: Phenoxy herbicides are often contaminated with dioxins like tcdd, which research suggests results in a small rise in cancer risk after exposure to these herbicides. Triazine exposure has been implicated in a likely relationship to increased risk of breast cancer, although it is unclear if it causes it. Exposure to herbicides, like paraquat and pesticides increases risk for parkinson's disease. ...Read more

Always lived on farm, have Myasthenia Gravis. What r the odds that the chemical/pesticides they r using are NOT good 4 me & can cause "mg flares?"

Always lived on farm, have Myasthenia Gravis. What r the odds that the chemical/pesticides they r using are NOT good 4 me & can cause "mg flares?"

Not related: Organiphosphate poisoning can cause a myasthenic SYNDROME in anyone. This is a toxicological disease, not an autoimmune disease like myasthenia GRAVIS. Although there is evidence that chronic pesticide exposure increases the risk of certain neurological conditions, the risk of exacerbation of MG is not known but my guess is that the specific risk is low compared to MG exacerbation from infection. ...Read more

Is eating organic a way to avoid pesticides in produce? Does that mean that organic foods would have more germs without the pesticides?

Organic foods have no more germs than conventional food but much lower levels of pesticides. Organic growers use other techniques including natural pesticides to protect plants. Organic plants also produce more natural defense chemicals and phytonutrients which are healthy to eat. See comment for more: ...Read more

Myasthenia Gravis, live on farm. Heard pesticides:insecticides will harm/exacerbate MG. True? If so how long must I be inside my home on spray day?

Myth: Some of the chemicals used are neuromuscular junction blockers, which target the tissue component that is of course damaged in myasthenia gravis. There's dubious "scare" stuff online by charlatans and tort lawyers. If you're not actually going to ingest the chemicals, I would not be concerned. None of these have been shown to cause lasting damage to people. ...Read more
