Are there any new treatments for OCd, apart from exposure and delay therapy? also are there any herbal supplement for this problem
NO herbals: OCD is defined as a obsessive condition with compulsive tendencies. There are some meds specifically therapy that are in the SSRI family. I would not take any herbals as these are not studied and ST Johns wort is not appropriate for this. See your doctor and get the best advice. Most appropriate would be to see a psychiatrist. ...Read more
Sensory integration therapy is based on the idea that senses such as sight, sound, touch, spatial awareness, and gravity help to guide development. When there is a disorder of sensory integration, someone trained in sensory integration therapy, such as an occupational therapist, will provide intense sensory inputs to the various systems using various tools and techniques. No good answer: Herbal supplements have not been subjected to clinical testing for effectiveness, toxicity or interaction with foods and medicines. There is also no guarantee that the alleged product is actually in the bottle or in the quantity stated. Almost all are benign, however, or there would be reports of interactions by now. So continue your usual diet without fear. ...Read more

We believe in herbal supplements for expectant mothers. We see no problems in our community. Why do doctors object?
Lack of education: In med school doctors are taught primarily about drugs & surgery. We are taught very little about herbs, nutrition & other natural therapies & often look at alternative approaches with suspicion.
