If my infant son received his four month old shots twice (not my doing btw), will that harm him? Nurse got confused and gave shots when not supposedto
My 4 month old baby gets histerical once I put his infant carrier in the car. He won't stop crying turning blue and shaking. What should I do?
Keep him safe in car: At four months he is too young for a real temper tantrum. While he may get agitated by the car seat's restrictive environment, his safety in the car is paramount for him to be transported in any other way in the car. You may want to have someone else sit beside him not to make him so lonely. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
4 month old infant with eczema on back of neck and bleeding due to scratching. How would you treat this?
Ate cookie with molasses. Scared I dropped cookie crumbs and my 4 month old possibly got them on hand/ into her mouth. Could she get infant botulism?
Possible: It is possible to get botulism but it is unlikely. Watch out for symptoms 18 - 36hrs after ingestion. Symptoms in infants are lethargy, weakness, poor feeding, weak cry. Not sure: Was there a reason that you stopped breastfeeding- were you on a medication, or sick? If so, one of those factors could have changed the taste of the breast milk. Also, some babies, when they take formula in a bottle, figure out that it's easier than the breast and may prefer it. Keep trying, but don't panic. Experiment. Maybe some breast milk in the bottle first and then switch to the breast? ...Read more

Breastfeeding and my 4 month old baby boy hasn't had a stool movement in 2 days. Should I worry? What should I do? I've tried prune juice to help.
Breast or formula?: Breast fed infants can go a little every feed or overflow a diaper once a week. If it is soft when they go I don't worry about it. Formula fed babies usually have a more predictable pattern of daily stools. If stools are getting hard, I often try full strength prune juice, 1oz once or more/d.Takes about 3d to get things moving. ...Read more

Normal Percentiles: Your baby's reported percentiles are within the normal range. Caloric restriction is neither necessary nor advisable. At this age, your baby should be feeding on demand and allowed to feed until satisfied. As long as growth continues along normal percentiles, baby is showing normal development, and is seeing the doctor at the recommended well-baby visits, there is no cause for concern. ...Read more
