Average Weight Of 1 Month Old Baby Boy
Is it safe to give an 8 month old baby Infant Tylenol (acetaminophen) every day during teething to help with teething pain & discomfort? Baby's weight is 18 lbs.
No: Pediatricians consider greater than or equal to 100.4 to be fever in a child less than one year of age. It is important to take the temperature recatally as this will give you the most accurate body temperature location.
My 1 month old infant has bright orange liquid stools that are foul smelling and can't go without me taking his temperature rectally every 5-6 days.
See Doctor: Some sensitivity to the milk, may need tests on stools and change in milk.
1 month old, formula feed infant has dark green poop that smells like skunk (sometimes stringy looking)...baby is gassy as well. Is this normal?
Could be: The first thing I would want to make sure is that your child is gaining weight appropriately and thriving. If that is the case, there are numerous things that could be of help, such as different formulas. That decision can be best made with your child's doctor who will know what formula your child is and/or has been on. Good luck.
My 1 month old baby boy has little red spots like blisters on the back of his head, he's had it for 3 weeks and its not going away, what's the cause?
Many possibilities: Proper evaluation of a blistery rash on a 1 month old will require an exam. There is a possibility that this could be an infection. Please set up a visit to evaluate the issue.
Hi, my breastfeeding 1 month old baby vomits large amount of curdled milk sometimes. He has gained good weight though. Is it normal to vomit often?
Infancy: Vomiting digested milk sometimes is ok if he is gaining good weight. A good burp after each feed is needed. Frequent vomiting, ie after each feed, projectile vomiting, forceful, makes me worry.
Depends: Full term females at 3 months typically weigh 4.5 to 6.5 kg. Full term males at 3 months of age typically weigh 5.5 to 7.5 kg.
???: Do you mean Tiki tiki Vitamins? I don't recommend them. Your baby should not need them. They are not recommended until 1 year of age. Talk to your pediatrician about whether your baby needs vitamins.
Between 6-8 feeds: Infants at this age typically feed anywhere between 6 and 8 feeds per day. Number of feeds can vary for any number of reasons such as type of feed (breast or formula), size of each feed, etc. Ultimately, feeding should be sufficient at this age to result in appropriate weight gain.
Prune or pear juice: I usually recommend for babies of that age 1 ounce of undiluated prune or pear juice (available at the grocery store) for the baby one to two times a day as necessary. For recurrent constipation, some parents may need to give the baby a smaller amount daily to prevent constipation.See 1 more doctor answer
Gaseous babies: Are you breast or bottle feeding. Contrary to what you might think breast fed babies swallow a lot of air when they feed. Frequent burping may alleviate some of the gas.Mylicon drops may help. When all else fails glycerine suppositories for babies gently inserted in the sinus for about five seconds helps tremendously.
See your doctor: It is possible that the diarrhea could be due to an allergy or insensitivity to the breast milk/formula your baby is getting - see your doctor who can test the stool for blood and possible infection. Your doctor can also re-weigh your infant and see if the baby is gaining weight. Your doctor might also suggest other formulas to try.See 1 more doctor answer
Constipation in 1yea: 1 month old is either on breast milk or formula feeding. The breast fed babies have variable stools, from going each time they are fed to no stools for two or three days you really do not have to worry about that unless baby is crancky and looks sick. In babies formula fedif there is no medical reason after evaluation by the pediatrician, you can try stool softners, but most of time it is self limited.See 1 more doctor answer
Hypercare: It should not be a problem for your one month old baby.
Do not worry: It is normal. Wash baby's face after each feed with a warm wash cloth. If it is getting worse then see your pediatrician. It is usually short lived and improves by 2 months of age.See 2 more doctor answers

Gas: Babies cry due to many reasons. Gas in the belly can hurt too. But normally they are happy once they pass stools or gas.
