If its considerably faster, say 90 or greater, I would seen by a pediatric cardiologist. ...Read more

With a consistent resting heart rate of 85 what would you expect a brisk walk to the shops heart rate to be? 23 year old female w/ slightly high BMI.
100-120: Your resting heart rate over 80 indicates a lack of physical fitness, assuming your thyroid and medical condition to be otherwise normal. I would guess that a brisk walk would increase your heart rate modestly since you are not obese. At your age, you ought to be doing more vigorous exercise to get your heart rate above 140 for about 20 minutes a day for optimal health and fitness. ...Read more

Hi doctors, is it normal for a 60 year old male to have a resting heart rate of 57 bpm. Thankyou?
A bit low but...:
"Normal" resting heart rate for men is 60-100, though 57 concerns me less than if it was 90. Those who are in good athletic condition may have lower heart rates. 57 is close enough to normal to be of minimal concern.
PS If you are on Lipitor (atorvastatin) I consider it essential to also take CoQ10.
