Hi dr I am 33 of age mamarried have 3 kids my height is 173 CM my weight is 100 pounds. My normal wweight according to age must be 75 how to get it.
Respected Sir! I'm 19 years old and 5'4" tall. Is this average height? What should be my height at this age? I look smaller before my friends.
Depends on genetic: Factors. Generally your expected height may be determined based on your parents' heights. This is assuming they were in good health. Another factor is age at onset of puberty and growth pattern. Some boys have delayed growth and maturation so grow quite a lot after age 19. This is often inherited so the father may also have had late growth and puberty. Your doctor can do a bone age test. ...Read more
Is it possible to gain height at age 16?! the child is 5'1".5. The dad is 5'7 and the mom is 5'6!
Maybe. Ask his Dr.: Most people reach their maximum height in their late teens. Without nutritional problems or chronic childhood illnesses, height is largely based on genetics and parental heights. Aside from eating right, exercising, sleeping well, and being happy, there's not much a person nor his doctor can do to increase height. In rare cases, growth hormone is approved for use in younger, extremely short kids. ...Read more
Possible: The expected height of kids would be average parental height + 2.5 inch for boys and -2.5in for girls. If either or both parents have genetic material on board from their families that should have made them taller, there is some chance that a taller child could be produced. Often the eventual stature of kids can be predicted in mid childhood using their bone maturity and pattern of growth. ...Read more

If a child was malnourished (lived off of processed foods, no proper nutrients, etc) up to age 12-13 could they still reach their potential height?
Malnourished?: "Malnourished" means not enough calories or not enough protein. It has long term consequences, affecting growth and sometimes development. Processed foods, although not ideal, on the other hand, are not necessarily deficient in these nutrients so it's not right to assume the child was malnourished. ...Read more

Is it OK to give my 14 year old son HGH supplements from a health store. He is well below the average height for his age.
Don't help: Products that say they support growth are unregulated by the FDA and not required to provide any proof of their claims. As such, they do support growth, since they contain material already in your diet. But they are not required to provide evidence that they take growth to a better level than you would be without it. I consider them a waste of money. U.S. kids have the most expensive pee in the world ...Read more

Child's penis and testicle not growing? My son is 9 years old and large for his age (in height and weight) but I am concerned bc it seems as if his penis and testicles are not growing. I realize that he has not hit puberty yet, but they seem unusually sma
It: It is not unusual for a child's penis and testicles to appear smaller than "normal" at this age, especially if he is a large child (they can look relatively smaller). As long as the testicles are descended and palpably normal, there is no cause for alarm. As he goes through puberty in the next few years, he will hopefully thin out a bit, and the genitalia will also grow appropriately. That being said, sometimes a visit to a specialist can be reassuring to a child (and you!), since puberty might be a couple of years away. ...Read more

Will I lose my extra body fat when I start my period my mother tells me, that when I start my period I will lose my extra body fat, I am at my average weight for my age and height, but I still have fat. Will I lose it naturally or is there anyway I can ge
Hello. I would not expect that your bodyfat would drop because you start having periods. Maybe what your mother was referring to, was that your body curves can change with puberty. For instance, the waist can be smaller in comparison to the size of the chest or the buttocks. I am glad to hear that you have a healthy weight for your height and age. The most important thing is to be healthy. We all have fat. It is necessary to have fat in our bodies.
One thing that I find sad, is that so many girls don't love their bodies. Many girls want to look like skinny models. Some girls go on drastic diets or eat too few calories to try to become really skinny. Did you know that it isn't always healthy to be really skinny? I recommend that you eat 5 servings a day of vegetables and 4 servings of fruit per day. Learn about eating healthy fats. I don't recommend that you try to eat really low calories at your age. Your body needs nourishment to grow. Try not to eat lots of junk food. Aerobic exercise is very important for good health; whether it is walking, or jogging or swimming etc.
You take care. If you focus on being healthy and loving yourself - everything else fits into place. ...Read more
