Complicated: This tca antidepressant can also treat pain & enuresis. May work by increasing norepinephrine & serotonin. It is also antihistaminic. In some people YES: In my experience an extremely small percentage of people with adversely react to 10 mg. of Aventyl (Nortriptyline). In fact, that is precisely why I titrate nortriptyline starting at 10mg. and escalate SLOWLY by only 10mg. weekly when treating my headache patients just to be able and gauge potentially intolerable side effects. No: Nortriptyline and Neuron tin can help with neuropathic pain but are not pain killers. They work best if you take it everyday. Anxiety: It has a good chance of helping with anxiety. If your derealization is related to your anxiety, it has a good chance of helping with that as well. But it is dose dependent.
