My daughters eczema has flared up badly. Been using eczema therapy by aveeno (oatmeal) at least twice a day. It was manageable then seems to have gotten worse.
My daughter has eczema, what are good soaps/shampoos to use? She's 4 yrs old. Is aveeno (oatmeal) great?
Suggested products: I like cetaphil cleanser for eczema - it is a non-soap cleanser and does not strip away the moisture the skin needs yet still cleans. Shampoos? Something mild - i would still do j and j baby shampoo - assuming the skin issue is not on the scalp. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
My 1 year old is using aveeno (oatmeal) and derma smoothe from his dermatologist for his eczema. It's not working. Skin is blotchy. What can I do?
Eczema: My advice on handling eczema is to limit the time in the bath tub, water is the enemy of eczema. To use aveeno (oatmeal), (oatmeal) cetaphil or dove sensitive skin soap only. To moisturize 2-3 times a day with cetaphil, aveeno (oatmeal) or aquaphor. And to use a steroid cream on the worst areas sparingly once daily. I hope this helps :) ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Is : Is she complaining of her anus itching? If so, the most common reason for her discomfort with a history of constipation is a small tear in her anus which may be more internal, thus not visible. Treatment for this involves sitz baths and fixing her constipation. Let her splash around in the tub for 10-20 minutes 2-3 times a day. Adding a few tablespoons of baking soda to the water can help, too. Also, treating her constipation effectively to prevent re-tearing of the fissure is very important. Making sure eats plenty of fruits and veggies for fiber and drinks plenty of fluids can help. She may need a laxative for a short while to keep her stools soft while she heals - you should contact her doctor about this. If her discomfort does not resolve over the next few weeks, you should also call her doctor. They may want to examine her to make sure she is not having another reason for her discomfort. Good luck! ...Read more
