Avamys Spray Side Effects
Well tolerated: Fluticasone is a steroid nasal spray that is available in generic form. It is well tolerated. Side effects to look out for include bleeding, nasal irritation and dryness of the nose. Nasal infections and nasal septal perforations may rarely occur. Glaucoma and cataracts are even more rare.
Most common. ......: Side effects in clued headache, nose bleed, and burning in the nose.
Allergic rhinitis, and I've been using fluticasone nasal spray for about 6 months. Does it have systemic side effects?
Not Usually: At the regular dose, there are minimal side effects. The most common are headache, throat infection, nasal irritation, sneezing, cough, nausea, vomiting, and nosebleeds. All nasal anti-inflammatory steroids have class warning relating to increased eye pressure and temporary slowing of growth rate in children. More info see: www. Rxlist. My gp prescribed 1 spray (27.5 mg of fluticasone furoate) in each nostril twice daily. Will this cause more side effects? Is the dose normal? Thanks
Veramyst: While the usual dose for Fluticasone Furoate (veramyst) is 1-2 sprays each nostril once a day for adults, it is not unusual to adjust the dose for a particular person's needs. Higher doses may help initially, then many docs will step down to the lowest effective dose. In general nasal steroid sprays are pretty safe and significant side effects would not be seen at twice a day.
Has potential: This is a corticosteroid which although given topically may be absorbed to varying extents and systemic side-effects of steroids are numerous, including adrenal insufficiency when stopped, diabetes, immunosuppression, osteoporosis, and others, but these are infrequent complications of this therapy.
Is the combination of fluticasone furoate and evocetirizine dihydrochloride 5mg effective for allergy? What are their side effects when combined?
Yes, effective: Fluticasone (flonase) is a nasal steroid spray and levocetirizine (xyzal) is a new generation antihistamine. They are excellent medications for the treatment of allergic rhinitis. There is no new side effects when these are combined. Each can have the potential for mild side effects alone-nose bleeds. In general they are well tolerated.
How long does it take for side effects from fluticasone to subside after u discontinue use. I have used it a month or so and experience ear congestion?
Side effects: If this is strictly a side effect of the medication, I would hope that as the medication comes out of your system, the effects will go away as well. The half life of the medication is 11-12hrs. So five half lifes before it is more or less out of your system, so roughly 60 hours, I would say fluticasone is out of your system. If there is some suppression on the adrenal axis, this may take more time
When using advair diskus (salmeterol and fluticasone) some side effects include memory and mental changes. What does this mean? Will my personality and memory change?
What are the side effects of advair diskus (salmeterol and fluticasone) and is it safe to use for 6 months or more?
Safe to use: Advair contains fluticasone, a steroid, and salmeterol, a long acting bronchodialtor. Any inhaled steroid can cause thrush so be sure to rinse your mouth well after use. I've also seen hoarseness with advair, especially if one does not inhale forcefully. Salmeterol can cause leg cramps at night. Regular use of advair is much safer than the alternative of episodic use of oral steroids.
I took fluticasone propionate and now my eye hurts. Are there any side effects of taking fluticasone propionate that I should be aware of?
Not sure but: Your eyes and sinuses are interelated through something called the nasolacrimal duct. You need to see an eye doctor and ask them.
I've been using seretide (salmeterol & fluticasone propionate) accuhaler for 5+ years. Should I stop and visit a doctor? Will there be side effects?
Control?: How are you being assessed as to the control of your asthma? How are you getting the medication without seeing a doctor? Yes, you definitely should see a doctor.
Hairspray: There is some controversy as to the long term health implications of using hair spray. However, many would say that it is reasonably safe if used as directed. Avoiding inhalation would be prudent, as would be avoiding any sort of open flame as the product is highly flammable.See 1 more doctor answer
Nasal spray: Depends on what is being sprayed. Saline none. Nasal decongestants should not be used more than 2 or 3 days at a time or else worsening or more congestion may develop. Nasal steroids safe for long term use.
Nasal congestion: Depending on the type of nasal spray you are using, you may develop recurrence of your nasal congestion
Nasal sprays.: Side effects of long term use of nasal sprays depends on the ingredient. 1) decongestants like neo-synephrione = more prolonged nasal congestion 2) Normal Saline = almost nil 3) steroids = possible atrophy of the turbinates; easy bleeding 4) antihistamines = sedation, loss of effect.
Increased congestion: Many of the Zicam nasal sprays contain nasal decongestants, similar to the afrin brand of nasal sprays. Topical nasal decongestant sprays are safe if used for a short period of time. If used for more than a few days, however, they can cause rebound congestion, which can become more severe than the original reason for using the spray. Never use for more than 3 days straight.See 1 more doctor answer
