Autoimmune Disorders As Connective Tissue Disease
My dad has very bad polymyalgia rheumatic disease. I have undiff connective tissue disease (current dx) , do you think autoimmune is in our genes?
The immune system developed to tell our own, normal cells (self) from foreign and abnormal cells (non-self). This lets the immune system eliminate viruses, bacteria, fungi and cancer cells from our body without harming normal cells. Sometimes the immune system fails to tell self from non-self and it attacks normal cells, for example in ...Read more

Is polymyositis rheumatica an autoimmune disease? My dad has this and I have a sytemic autoimmune connective tissue disease as well. Genetic?
I have active autoimmune connective tissue disease.Could that be why HDL is >100? Ldl is <100. I eat healthy and exercise. Or is HDL >100 a good thing
Unlikely related: Hdl cholesterol (hdl-c) > 100 is uncommon. In general, high hdl-c may be the result of genetics (hyperalphalipoproteinemia), exercise, increased alcohol intake, or medications (niacin, fibrates). Rare causes include obstruction in the biliary tract, very high blood levels of dilantin, and organophosphate toxicity. In some cases high HDL is not protective due to poor HDL particle functionality. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

SVT can be disabling and tends to get worse with time. There may be factors involving meds or your abnormal physiology. SVT may be due to an aberrant conductive tissue in your heart. This can be identified and cured by a special type of cardiologist. ...Read more
