A known person of age 16 started taking 100 mg cetirizine per day. planning to continue for next few months.will any chronic disease attack her with ?

Why?: Usually no one needs more than 40 mg of cetirizine daily (and that's for hives) and thus I wonder why this person needs to take 100 mg of it daily? It will likely cause some drowsiness and possibly dry mouth, or even constipation. If we know more about what condition this is supposed to treat, we can give you a better answer. ...Read more

Can taking 2 Excedrin every day cause bloating?

Can taking 2 Excedrin every day cause bloating?

Yes: Taking Aspirin (250 mg in each excedrin extra strength) everyday can cause stomach irritation and lead to a feeling of bloating and indigestion. The tylenol (acetaminophen) probably would not cause bloating unless you got to the point if liver injury. I would avoid taking it as an everyday pain medication and speak to you physician regarding a long term alternative. ...Read more

Severe ongoing fatigue (sleep 18-20 hrs 2x's/wk)- thyroid, vit d, iron all ok. Possible start of lupus or mixed connective disease, any connection?

Unlikely: If fatigue is the only issue, it is very unlikely that it results from a connective tissue disorder. Have you seen a rheumatologist? I would consult one. It could be chronic fatigue syndrome or numerous other issues. ...Read more

Does not make sense: No one could have that many diagnoses. Something is grossly wrong. Start from the beginning and get another opinion. See a rheumatologist (or another rheumatologist). ...Read more

21, female, headaches & nausea for 4-5 months, both worse in the morning, changed pattern twice after 3rd month.Dizziness, vomits, weightloss.Otc don't work.

Well, It may be: A couple of things. It may be migraines causing headches and other symptoms, it could be nausea. I would focus in on meds that are over the counter as you could try them today, like ranitidine to decrease stomach acid. I would inquire about your sleep and anxiety. One one extreme you may have an ulcer, have some bleeding and anemia then, as a result the headaches. Prilosec otc would be good t. ...Read more

Have graves disease. Dr reduced dose of tapezole(5 mg) from once every other day to twice/week because my thyroid hormones are normal. Good idea?

Metimazole: I think it depends on what your TSH measurements were doing on the every other day dosing . If they were trending upward then you md may have decreased your dose to make sure your TSH does get above the normal range. Hope this helps. ...Read more

History of migraines & carotidynia, having carotid headaches all day everyday for almost a week, today had headache w/ metallic taste in mouth. Ideas?

Metallic taste: A metallic taste usually means that the nerve that helps with taste has been inflamed by whatever process that is causing the headaches. Migraines do not typically cause carotidynia. Carotidynia is a diagnosis of exclusion. This means that it is usually the last diagnosis after other processes have been ruled out. It is an inflammation of the carotid sheath and is painful to manipulation. ...Read more

Don't be too sure...: The GI tract has a very limited # of symptoms to signal its distress--nausea/vomiting, diarrhea/constipation, bloating, pain, fullness, bleeding, etc. As you know, many of these characterize ibs, but are also seen with inflammatory, infectious, ischemic, malabsorptive, and functional disorders. Also, pregnancy is always possible despite use of birth control--no single method is 100% effective. ...Read more
