Calcium supplement contains 2000IU Vit D as Cholecalciferol D3. 500% Daily Value. Is this harmful?
It depends,,,: This is supposed to be for Vitamin D deficiency, for conditions that result from Vit D deficiency, and others that could be treated by Vit D supplements. If too much is taken, symptoms like vomiting, constipation, and kidney stones could result. If you have some of these symptoms, or you are concerned that you are taking too much, you should see your Dr. for an exam and dose change. Good luck. ...Read more

Recommended daily intake for: b-complex, vitamin b-12, vitamin a, vitamin k, vitamin e, magnesium and potassium?
Depends: If you look at any multivitamin bottle, there will be a rda (recommended daily allowance) for the different components. There is very little evidence out there that surpassing rda will treat or prevent any disease. From my field (ophthalmology), people who have moderate to severe macular degeneration can benefit from higher levels of a, c, e, and zinc, but the benefit is relatively small. ...Read more
Wish that were so...: Although the internet abounds with stories of children with autism improving with certain vitamins, dietary supplements, and special diets, there is not evidence that any of these treatments help most children with autism. My patients are free to try these (if safe) if they want, though i don't endorse them. I wish there was a simple nutritional solution to this very difficult condition. ...Read moreSee 3 more doctor answers

Yes but caution re:A: I'm confused, as the info above says you're a 20 yo male, but most males don't take prenatal vits, if you're male i wouldn't take a prenatal, as they often have iron, which 20 yo guys shouldn't take. If you're female, why did you say you're male?If you might become pregnant take no more than 10, 000 iu total of vit a/day-see http://www.Care2.Com/greenliving/is-vitamin-a-safe-for-pregnant-women.Html. ...Read more

Should be: If it is a recognized prenatal vitamin the people who make it know that the vit a should be present but not too high that is one reason u take a prenatal and not a multivitamin cause multi have too much vit a for pregnancy and any ?S like this should be directed to your obgyn, so make a list so u do not forget during your visits or call in between if necessary. ...Read more
Ginkgo biloba, calcium, magnesium, zinc, vitamin d3, biotin, folic acid, and fish oil, are these good to take?
Too much calcium: I am not sure why you are taking so much calcium; it is not difficult to get adequate calcium from diet ; too much calcium increases risk of atherosclerosis. Also no need to take phosphorous. The vit d is fine- consider up to 8000 iu (check levels). Best to take with 1 mg vit k. Magnesium is much more likely to help your anxiety and blood pressure than calcium: see http://bit.Ly/1dpai09. ...Read more
