Allergy: Should not have any of the caine medications. Next time could have anaphylaxis. Most safe way to test is with an allergist. Consider getting Epipen. Benadryl may help in the first 48 hours. ...Read more

Symptomatic relief: Is best after discussion with your PCP or doctor. Make sure this is documented in your chart as ALLERGY TO BACTRIM/SULFAS. The symptomatic relief is perhaps the best, like ice chips, no hot, spicy, foods. Keep it bland, hydrating, easy to digest as your entire throat may also be affected down to your gut.
