Atypical ibs symptoms - Doctor answers
Gas pains for 5 days. Atypical for me. Normally gas doesn't hurt. No other symptoms. What could this be? IBS perhaps??
Can IBS change to something else? Years ago had the classic symptoms but they changed as I got older. From my 30`s to 40`s.

Can be confusing:
Endo pain is typically focused on the menstrual cycle. IBS pain is often related to bowel function, such as pain followed by diarrhea. IBS often also is associated with sharp crampy pain and may be in the upper abdomen.

Some are sensitive to carbohydrates in milk (lactose), fruit (fructose), other carbs in veggies like onions, artichokes, broccoli, grains, beans. Some are sensitive to alcohol, temp of foods, i.e. Cold, chocolate, fat content, carbonated beverages.

R/O IBS: IBS is a diagnosis of exclusion. IUC/CROHNS DZ/IBD is inflammation usually DX by BX IBS SX can be managed. You need a full exam and blood work. Especially screen for H pylori.
