Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder In Adults (Overview)

Attention deficit disorder with or without hyperactivity begins in childhood and may continue through adulthood. Symptoms are similar: poor attention span, impulsivity and hyperactivity which is disruptive to others. Adults who present for a diagnosis must meet criteria for ADD in childhood which a careful history will support. Medical causes for symptoms must be ruled out.
