Not knowing for sure: -I would feel it is due 2 the fact that in children it it actively forming bone, adding circumference so is thicker and adhered to the bone by the transformation of periosteum to bone. In adults it is no longer adding circumference by laying down bone, &therefore not as adherent. Would like to hear other responses from other MD's. ...Read more
