How long does it take for chest and arm muscles to atrophy if you stop working out with weights?

How long does it take for chest and arm muscles to atrophy if you stop working out with weights?

Double the time: I agree with the original answer. The concern is not true atrophy but the loss of power and performance. The typical rule is it takes twice as long to get back to where you were as the duration of the absence. So if you missed 2 weeks, expect a 4 week interval of hard work to get back to where you were. Does breast augmentation under the muscle look better years later than one on top of muscle?

Snoopy vs RockinSock: A variety of names have been used to describe the long term appearance of breasts with implants which have not "aged" as desired. When placed under the muscle, implants tend to be held in place by the muscle (gross generalization) while the breast tissue falls off the muscle causing the "snoopy" look. Y do I keep getting pain in my breast feels like when u pull a muscle it comes and go could it be that I slept wrong or in it?

I suppose so: Breast is mostly fibroglandular tissue and fat. The muscle is deep the the breast. If your pain is in the breast itself it might be from a cyst or perhaps a mass. Is the pain in one area and if you do self exam do you feel any mass or hard immovable lump? If so you should see a gynecologist or breast surgeon. Read more

Is it normal for my breasts to change shape or look strange when raising my arms over my head? Is this because of muscles pulling?

Is it normal for my breasts to change shape or look strange when raising my arms over my head? Is this because of muscles pulling?

Shape and ligaments: The breasts are actually shaped like a comma with a tail out toward the armpit. Therefore, the shape will be different than when you have your arms down. This actually occurs because of ligaments attaching to the breasts called cooper's ligaments. You are at the age where you should have a breast exam and a baseline mammogram and I would recommend seeing your doctor for that. Read more

Chest pain: If you've inflammed an intercostal muscle or a chest wall muscle it can take some weeks to heal. Your chest is constantly moving with respiration and coughing irritates it also, both slow healing somewhat. You might be able to take Ibuprofen to make things more comfortable. 17yo girl. Is it normal to feel (1) thin strip of 3cm muscle, which move slightly when pressure applied during selfcheck (2) ribcage under my breasts?

Breast check: at your age it would be highly unlikely for you to have a breast cancer however it is good to be conscious of your body. Beneath your breasts are pectoralis muscles and your rib cage, there for what you're feeling is most likely normal. Cancer is more nodular and hard, most of the time it is fixed in place as well.
