Atenolol Ibuprofen Interaction
Atenolol is a relatively long-acting (24 hours) beta-blocker. Beta-blockers as a group of medications calm or slow the heart rate down. They stop the swings in hr from stress or nerves. If someone is on a good dose of a beta-blocker and are startled, the medication suppresses the pounding of your heart. It also won't allow the hr to climb with exercise. It's used to ...Read more

No: You likely haven't harmed the baby, though you should see doctor and see if has another recommendation. Most cardiologists are going to recommend metoprolol in pregnancy for elevated heart rate control. It's in the same class of medications but better for pregnant women. Make sure you have appointment right away, either with doctor who prescribed you the atenolol, or with an ob/gyn, don't wait! ...Read more
Have multiple heart attacks in family history. Taking 25mg atenonlol & 81 mg baby aspirin nightly. Can I also take Advil or ibuprofen for headaches?
Yes: All anti-inflammatory medications increase risk for a cardiovascular event (mi, stroke, death). These risk seems to be associated with higher doses. So it's best if you take the lowest possible dose for a short duration. The other concern with nsaids and Aspirin is increase risk for GI bleed. If you have risk factor for this you have to be cautious and may want to take some zantac (ranitidine) with it. ...Read more

There is no actual: Scientific studies that concluded CoEnzyme Q10 had long lasting or significant beneficiary effects. I do not think there are many reported cases of this supplement causing absorption or metabolizing interactions with the medicines you are taking. So I cannot say for sure if your supplement will be beneficial at all. ...Read more

The good news is that 400 mg of ibuprofen is a relatively low dose. You should watch for any signs of bleeding or increased bruising. You should opt for tylenol (acetaminophen) if you need pain meds, no more than 4 grams in 24 hours. (2 extra strength every 6 hours).

How long should I wait to take prednisone, if I just took ibuprofen? I know there is a drug interaction.
Dr. Wants me to take hydrochlorothiazide for my blood pressure. Only 12 mgs. I read there's an interaction with ibuprofen. I just take 1 Advil. A day.
No Problem Here: Hydrochlorthiazide if taken with Ibuprofen will increase the blood level of ibuprofen by acidic drug competition for renal tubular clearance. But the dosage of both the meds you are taking is so small as 1 advil only has 200 mgm of ibuprofen and it will not cause any problem and may make advil more effective for pain. And 12.5mgm od Hydrochlorthiazide is also a small dose. Discuss with your doctor. ...Read more
I take 10 mg of prozac (fluoxetine) a day. I get bad headaches from it. Am I allowed to take ibuprofen for the headaches? Are there any interactions btwn the two?
Ask your doctor: You should ask your doctor for the clearance to take other medications (even over the counters) while on Prozac (fluoxetine). Well, actually interesting you should ask because in fact, there are significant interactions which can cause either an increase in bleeding complications due to the ibuprofen or increased toxicity of the Prozac (fluoxetine). The combination should be closely monitored in general. Check with Doctor ...Read more
Interactions: I don't know of any interactions between these medications other than that they are both high blood pressure medications and could lower your blood pressure excessively if this is too high of a dose for you.
