A good medicine: Atacand (candesartan) belongs to the class called angiotensin-receptor-blocker, works by dilating blood vessels, including those in the kidneys. This is a good/safe BP med, often used in folks with diabetes. Typically lowers 10-15 points of BP measurement. It is also available as combined med with a diuretic--atacand-hctz. Consult doc if you have problem/side effects. Good luck. ...Read more

You mean dilatrate?: Dilatrate belongs to a class: calcium-chanel-blocker. By itself, it does not interact with Atacand (candesartan) and thus they can be used together to treat high blood pressure. Since they both lower bp, combo use may lower too much and cause hypotension/orthostatic hypotension etc. But otherwise they are safe together. If u have side effects/problems, consult your doc. Good luck. ...Read more
