I've had total 7 ultrasounds with my pregnancy beacuse of bleeding I had is it true its bad for the baby iam having another coming up to see gender?
Safe when done right: My understanding of ultrasounds is that when they're done properly, they are safe. Ultrasounds are not like x-rays in which radiation is used. If an ultrasound probe is left in one spot for a very extended period of time, it could potentially raise the temp of the scanned tissue, but it is unclear if that has any ill effect. Recommend you pose this good? To the radiologist before the next u/s. ...Read more

No--but enjoy trying: I think folks have been trying to answer this question for thousands of years--and there are plenty of methods that people suggest. But it appears that none of them (short of blood testing, or amnio) are any more reliable than a coin toss. And although ultrasound studies are pretty accurate, I've had a few dozen families who were certain of a baby's gender based on the ultrasound...But surprised. ...Read more
How accurate is ultrasound at 16 weeks pregnancy for gender detection if baby cooperate. Is it 80% or 85% or 95%. Based on experience and medical papers?
Depends on fetus:
16 weeks is quite early, and there is never a guarantee. If the fetus spreads it's legs and is in the right position for the us technologist, it can be very easy to tell the gender. If the fetus does not cooperate, then the accuracy goes down, to just guessing or flipping a coin (50%).
It is easier to tell at 20 weeks or so (everything is bigger). Ask the tech how confident they are. ...Read more
