40 week: 40 weeks is not early labor. Early labor is giving birth before 37 week. 40 weeks is to the point where your doctor should consider induction. Your doctor needs to start talking about induction if you do not deliver by 41 weeks . Going beyond 42 weeks is not desirable. Make sure you see your OB every week, or more frequent. ...Read more

Not yet necessarily: Just means that the size of the gravid uterus is pressing on the colon/abdominal content giving the urge to defecate. Also likely causing the back pain as well. Can be: Nausea is very common in labor because the stomach stops emptying normally and some people experience the early contractions as cramps. At 40 weeks pregnant, symptoms like these can often be the start of labor. Check with your OB to see if you should be seen at the office or in labor and delivery but you do need to be checked. Time contractions: and Call your Ob to discuss this symptom. this can most certainly be a sign of labor because contraction won’t always start out super painful at first and could feel like a cramp or menstrual cramp…so keep track of them.We have our fingers, toes, legs and eyes crossed so keep us posted! Sometimes nature: Does not work right, if you were my pt and have good dates and the baby is not measuring too large on ultrasound, then i would induce you a a recent large study showed the best time for the baby to be delivered is 39-40 weeks, the meds we have now are safe and when i induce it works 99.9% of the time meaning it gets u into labor, the farther u go past due date the greater chance for a problem! ...Read more
