Painful sexual intercourse, painful urge to urinate, bleeding, swelling, itching? Possible genital herpes outbreak?
Possibly herpes: These symptoms are quite typical for newly acquired genital herpes; too severe for an outbreak of recurrent herpes. New herpes is especially likely if at risk, e.g. new partner or partner known to have genital herpes. Severe urinary tract infection or other STD also are possible. Get care ASAP, the sooner the better both for accurate diagnosis and effective treatment if it's herpes. Good luck! ...Read more
Herpes: Recurrent herpetic outbreaks are usually shorter in duration (averaging 7 days), with less severe symptoms and are often preceded by a prodrome of itching or burning in the affected area. Systemic symptoms are usually absent. Most people diagnosed with a first episode of genital herpes can expect to have several (typically four or five) outbreaks (symptomatic recurrences) within a year. ...Read more
My test is positive for herpes 1 and negative for herpes 2 (all igg) but also positive IgM herpes too. Would you say I have type 1 or 2 ?

I'm just wondering, if you haven't had a herpes simplex type 1 outbreak in years, is it still contagious?
Tested positive for herpes, type 1- >8.0 ai herpes type 2- 3.7 ai does this mean by the level type 2 was recent? I heard over 5 means u had it longer
Reading Herpes Tests: I would caution you against these assumptions. These tests should be read and positive (one has been exposed and infected) or negative (one does not have evidence of exposure and infection). Trying to guess when one was exposed will never be correct from these numbers. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Hi after a infected spider bite in 6/ 2011 i had lymph # of 3.1 , lymph % of 30' then in 8/2011 it raised to 3.2 and lymph % 37. Rest if CBC normal. Ct last month shied several 1 CM nodes. Scared?
NOT TO WORRY,: Your lymphocyte percentage is within normal limit, though lymphocyte % doesn't have to do anything with an infected spider bite 2 1/2 year ago. 1 cm lymph node enlargement is not also an important factor here. As long as the lymph nodes are not enlarging, not to worry. Your doc will know why s/he advised ct, may be for some other reason! ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Mild anemia: Assuming you've had no recent bleeding episodes, these findings could be seen in mild/early anemia of chronic disease. Hgb and Hct are only boarder line low, and iron panel appears within the reference range. Even something as simple as a particularly heavy period could cause mild anemia of this type, though. If you have a chronic medical illness, it could cause this type of anemia. ...Read more
