If I wanted to end my life how much aspirin would I have to take they are only 80 mg?

If I wanted to end my life how much aspirin would I have to take they are only 80 mg?

Aspirin = bad idea: Assisted-dying is not illegal in about 5 states in the U.S., so if an adult there has a terminal illness, or is in a comparably bad situation, she has the right as a free American to choose her own destiny. However, many people become suicidal for other reasons, which are often temporary (breaking up with a loved one, loss of a job, etc...), so calling 911 to save them gives them a second chance.

Would I be able to live in full life after I overdosed on aspirin in 2012. the level went up to 75. or have it perhaps damaged my body?

You should be fine: There is no lasting damage from salicylate overdose. So don't spend much time worrying about that, rather concentrate on managing your life so that depression will not interfere with it. There are many useful resources online, but most people will need help from time to time and/or medications from a professional. Good luck, and congratulations for tending to your physical & mental health!

Is aspirin an alternative to warfarin? I have had 2 uedvts and I need anti coagulation for life.

Is aspirin an alternative to warfarin? I have had 2 uedvts and I need anti coagulation for life.

It's not: Aspirin, although, used for anticoagulation, is drastically different from warfarin. It acts upon platelets preventing their aggregation, whereas warfarin acts upon clotting factors (proteins) in the liver, therefore being much stronger in its ability to thin blood. For DVT prophylaxis warfarin is indicated and Aspirin is not.

Shouls I take a baby aspirin daily for the rest of my life. Can this have any longterm side effects or anything?

Shouls I take a baby aspirin daily for the rest of my life. Can this have any longterm side effects or anything?

Likely not.: However, unless you have problems contributing to heart disease or stroke, ie. High bp, bad cholesterol, diabetes, or a strong family hx, you will probably receive less cardioprotection. However, low dose asa may decrease the risk for colon ca!

Can I take 81 mg baby aspirin just 3 times a week and still get the heart benefit. What is the aspirin half life.?

Can I take 81 mg baby aspirin just 3 times a week and still get the heart benefit. What is the aspirin half life.?

Reduce bleeding.: When a patient on therapeutic Aspirin experiences excessive bleeding associated with minor trauma, we commonly reduce the dosing to every other day as a compromise, thereby shifting the risk/benefit ratio back to an acceptable level.

Why we usually give aspirin daily in stroke and ihd although it irreversible inhibitor of platelet agreggation and platelet life 10 days?

New platelets: Your bone marrow generates new platelets every day, and these will be untreated and fully active. Daily asa makes sure the platelets are adequately treated.

2 allergists told me to take aspirin for my chronic pain even tho they cause hives. They said my reactions were non life threatening. Is this reallyok?

Odd?: I agree with dr. Krauser. I am wondering if there could have been a misunderstanding. If you get hives when you take Aspirin that is a problem. You might want to double check the recommendations made by the physicians.

Cardiology :Is Aspirin indicated for life after Mitral Valve Repair 50+yr Male? (with ClearArtery's on Angiogram).UK Surgeon explained it's Protocol.

Mitral valve repair: Many mitral valve repair operations involve the implantation of a ring around the valve annulus. The ring is covered with cloth. Clots can form on the ring, or in other parts of the heart. If there is atrial fibrillation then doctors would often give an anticoagulant blood thinner like warfarin, but if not, then aspirin would often be used. There is not much hard data to say which is best.

My age is 42. I m a patient of high bp. 5 yrs back I had a stroke n my left hand n leg were motionless. I recovered. Should I take aspirin life long?

Stroke: Long term Aspirin depends on risk benefit ratio. If you have a high probability of bleeding and you stroke was from bleeding, might be too risky. If you had thrombotic stroke and otherwise no other risk factors, would take asa. Best to discuss with your doc.

How many aspirins can I take in a day?

How many aspirins can I take in a day?

Aspirin: 2 adult aspirins every 6 hours would be the limit, but you shouldn't take this dose for more than a day or two because of potential irritation of the stomach and duodenal lining and gi bleeding. It is unnecessary to take this theurapeutic dose of aspirin nowadays because of the availability of medication like Tylenol, (acetaminophen)ibuprofen, Aleve, etc and these also have their own precautions.

Probably not: Benadryl's effects usually would not last long enough to cause morning drowsiness. That said, there are always exceptions.

How can aspirin work?

Complex: It is a prostaglandin inhibitor and platelet inhibitor which interferes with clotting, reduces inflammation, reduces fever, and reduces pain. Those are its major effects and there are other minor actions as well.

Can a baby use aspirin?

No: We have not used Aspirin or Aspirin like products in kids under age 16 for decades after it was tied to a rare cause of liver failure/death. The only exceptions are treating kids with arthritis, kawasaki disease or rheumatic fever. The "baby aspirin" as a low dose has resurfaced & is used with adults to help prevent heart attacks.
