Aspirin Dose: This is a difficult question to answer without knowing why you are taking it. If you are taking Aspirin for its cardioprotectant effect, the dose is considerably lower than what you are taking on the other hand, if you are taking it as an anti-inflammatory agent for osteoarthritis, the dose seems a little low. The doctor who prescribed your Aspirin therapy is the best person to answer this

If we take aspirin periods will come immediately or not?

Asa /periods: Asa does not affect timing of periods. If you are on your period and take ASA theoretically you might bleed a bit more or heavier because asa is an anti-platelet agent, though one study showed no change in menstrual discharge. During flu season its not the best idea to take ASA as there is a risk of Reyes syndrome..

Irregular bleed: Irregular periods one of the most common problems obgyns treat. If this is one time problem it usually resolves on its own. If this is a recurring problem you should be evaluated. Infections, hormonal changes, polyps and fibroid can cause spotting. If there is a concern for pregnancy then do a home pregnancy test. There are many options available to help regulate the menstrual cycle.

No: There are many reasons for a missed period. A common one is pregnancy so make sure you are not pregnant. If not it could be from hormonal shifts or even stress. If you are not pregnant, then your periods should go back to normal in the next month or two. If not see your doctor. Aspirin will not help.

Help please! When they say not to take aspirin or paracetomol with gingko biloba, do they mean over a long period of time?

Anticoagulation: Gingko biloba side effects are controversial for thinning the blood. Aspirin is well known for that side effect. So when they say not to take, they mean that your blood can get too thin and have more bruising, bleeding or trouble clotting blood.

Is it safe for me to take Aspirin so that my period can come sooner? I'm 17 and have never taken it before. Am I at risk for Reye's syndrome?

Reye Syndrome: Reye Syndrome is a potentially fatal problem affecting the liver, more common in children and teenagers who take aspirin. Because of this risk, in the US, it is recommended that no one under age 19 should take aspirin. Besides, aspirin will not make your period come any sooner. The timing of a menstrual cycle is purely hormonal. Do not take the aspirin. Good luck.

I have bad period cramps and I took two aspirins 81mg, I weigh only about 80 pounds. I know it thins out your blood but do you think I will be ok?

I have bad period cramps and I took two aspirins 81mg, I weigh only about 80 pounds. I know it thins out your blood but do you think I will be ok?

Yes, dose is low: And should not cause bleeding unless you have a specific bleeding disorder. That dose is low and it is safe to take up to 325 to 500 mg per dose for short periods of time If you have bad cramps, you may also find that 1 naproxen/Aleve will give relief. If you regularly get cramps, I recommend that you start Rx as soon as menses begin, as it is easier to prevent cramps than after they arebad.
