Should my daughter/myself honestly get a flu shot? No flu shots for us yet but people we know who(work, school, etc.) did are really sick w/ flu!
I have bad allergies. If allergies are caused by overactive immune system, why do I get sick so easy? 2 staph, sinus infect, HPV, MANY colds & flu.
Good question: allergy causes inflammation of mucus membranes /skin, this inflammation invites bacteria which colonize sinuses, skin and other areas causing chronic infection with frequent flare-ups, sometimes with the allergy there could be a subtle defect in the complex immune system which adds to the problem, you need to see a qualified allergist/immunologist for management, keep follow up with your doctor/ENT ...Read more
Short answer - yes: Swine flu is really only one form of several strains of influenza. Sometimes the doctor or nurse practitioner calls your illness "flu-like"(like swine flu) and treats you for it empirically, even without specifically testing for flu (nose swab test). Later, if you have a repeat of similar symptoms, then this could be labelled a recurrence of "swine flu". My office tests for flu--not swine flu. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

The risk of getting the sick and getting bad complications is sooo much higher with the flu compared to any form of the vaccine. No comparison. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
