Help please! Is asperger's syndrome and hypersexuality often comorbid?

More awkward: A teenaged male aspie has little in the way of social skills, and is likely to approach somebody he find attractive in an awkward way -- even more so than the next male teen. If there's inappropriate acting-out, junior may be grateful to have someone help him understand what he should do instead before there's serious trouble. Drive's probably the same, but special management problems. Good luck. ...Read more

What is the best way to tell my children about our divorce? Our son hugo has aspergers and our 14 year old has celiac and type one diabetes

What is the best way to tell my children about our divorce? Our son hugo has aspergers and our 14 year old has celiac and type one diabetes

No one best way: I believe it's impossible to predict the BEST way to go about telling children about a divorce. The method should be one agreed-upon by both parents and I would think should involve either a family meeting or at least one parent telling both children at the same time. And then, the other parent having a conference if it's not possible to have the whole family together. Best of luck to you all. ...Read more

I think my nephew has aspergers?

Maybe he does: There's no magic cure for Asperger's. I'm going to assume that Junior isn't just withdrawn and awkward because Dad's an ineffective model / teacher. Asperger's offers many advantages especially in the computer age. The key is getting guidance learning how to talk to people, read people, choosing a strength or endurance rather than coordination or ballgame sport, and achieving to be respected. ...Read more

What is it like to have aspergers? What are the symptoms?

Like Bill Gates: It feels like being a stranger in a strange land. It is very hard to read other people, social interactions are completely confusing. You feel like things have to go a certain way or something bad will happen. You have a driving interest in something, a field or topic, and can lose yourself in it to the exclusion of other things.
