It depends: Persons with asperger's disorder can be hypersensitive to all different types of environmental stimuli, including another person showing a strong emotional state. Reacting to a stimulus such as this does not necessarily mean the person with asperger's is feeling empathy. Get help: You've posted numerous messages over the last week or so with questions about depression and antidepressants. You sound pretty desperate. It also sounds like you're being treated. If you have a psychiatrist, you need to let him know. If you're not also getting psychotherapy, think about it. The last resort for refractory depression is hospitalization & electroshock.
