Good question: Typical 1-year-olds feed a doll with a bottle, representing an act from the environment. Even at 3-4 years, kids with autism put the tip of the bottle in any indentation on the doll's body, sensorimotor play. Despite overdeveloped rote memory, they can't "get" concepts- things you can't see or touch-because of their concrete thinking. That is a lot going : On ; it doesn't sound like fun. Take on a little "can do" attitude. Encourage you to enlist the care of a good psychiatrist as well as a therapist/ psychologist. Alk about feelings ; address problems. Don't avoid them. Aim for 7.5 - 8 hours of sleep/ night. Daily physical activity is optimal in a green space. Eat healthfully. Adhd med right 4 me? Diagnosed as child. Procrastination, organization issues, bored easily, temper, restless, impulsive, but school unaffected.
Probably not needed: if you are able to perform well at school, then you probably don't have a significant in attention problem, and rather some anxiety or other emotional issue.
