Yes: Check with your doctor, but generally, creams are ok.See 1 more doctor answer
I don't recommend it: This is a topical product that contains salycilates. Although it is unlikely it would be absorbed in a significant amount, there is a possibility a kid could ingest some. We have not uses salycilates in kids under 16 for decades since their association with reye syndrome.
Not best treatment: It could help since it is an analgesic but it might not be the best treatment. If you have active shingles, please visit your doctor, he/she might recommend anti viral medication and anti inflammatory medications. If the pain is persistent after the rash is gone, topical Lidocaine patches along with a nerve pain medication are the best course of treatment.
No.: No. The product information states "do not use: •on children under 10 years of age. ".
Better Ideas: Sunburn is response of the tissues to injury from solar radiation. It is simply inflammation which means increase blood flow to the area to promote healing. Do not use ice as this can injure already injured skin. Cool water soaks can help as can taking anti-inflammation medicines like Motrin or advil (ibuprofen). Avoid any further damage as this can cause scarring. Good skin cream applied daily/gently helps.
How does aspercreme work? Is it just a pain reliever or does it help heal? Ankle tendonitis feeling much better with aspercreme than lidocaine patches
See details: If it makes you feel better then it works.
Not harmful: Over the counter topical analgesics should be safe to use on your lower abdomen.
Penile implant 10/30 - pain and skin cracking w/dead skn. Body lotion&/or aspercreme? Any other recons/tips welcome for pain free recovery thx
Partial knee replacement 4 wks. I started using aspercreme heat on muscles around knee. Used last night. Just got out of shower and leg burning...?
Observe: After knee replacement or other major surgery there can be either numbness or hypersensitivity of local nerves. When you put "heat" creme on hypersensitive nerves, it can cause a burning sensation. It's probably not dangerous. Worth watching if the sensation gets better when you withhold the creme. The main thing to do is make sure you get your range of motion back and strengthen you knee.
Aspirin Aspercreme: First of all, wash the addected areas well with soap and water. Then call poison control - 1-800-222-1222. Chances are great that it won't hurt her provided she has no influenza symptoms currently. Please be careful with medications when there are younger children in the house. Always keep them locked and out of their reach.See 1 more doctor answer
Most likely safe: Meladerm is an over the counter skin lightening agent. It contains no prescription medications. It does have some acids used for chemical peels so be careful not to overuse it. Chemical peels can be very useful for treating many skin conditions. The real question is it effective enought to justify the cost.
