Am on Ramipril 10mg and Amlodopine 5mg, can I safely take Ashwagandha supplement with these drugs please?

Should be ok...: Ashwagandha is frequently referred to as "Indian ginseng" and is an herb used in Ayurvedic healing. It belongs to the tomato family. It purports to relieve stress and promote good immunity. It reportedly interacts with immunosuppressant and sedating medications, not the anti-hypertensives you are taking. It should be safe to take, though as with all supplements, unproven as regards effectiveness.

No: I hope you're not spending too much money on this stuff. I'm glad you're interested in "natural healing", but think about getting with an evidence-based holist. Best wishes.

Why Supplements?: Since you're 17 years old, I am concerned that you are spending time and money wasting it on the supplements that you listed. While some of the substances are present in a healthy diet, there is actually no reason you should be taking them in the form of a supplement. You should be getting all the vitamin D you need in a healthy diet, and the other things, except Prilosec, are unproven.

Is withania somnifera safe to take daily? (ashwagandha)

Is withania somnifera safe to take daily? (ashwagandha)

NothingPerfectlySafe: See: http://en. Wikipedia. Org/wiki/withania_somnifera. Nothing is perfectly safe. Our bodies are open systems; majority (~55-62%) is water ; we need water in ; out to stay alive; yet water can also kill us, e.g. Acute water intoxication; pulmonary edema (cannot breath), etc. The issues are always dose/unit time, both acute ; chronic changes in behavior ; tracking outcomes, called clinical trials.

Can ashwagandha cure chronic stress or is it just used as a temporary stress reliever?

Address the whole: For chronic stress, one must address the whole situation. What caused the chronic stress in the first place? Ashwagandha is a relatively safe herb that can be used for chronic stress to help symptomatically as well as to help rebuild the system. However, exercise, stress management techniques, and a good diet are also key as well as addressing the source of the stress.

Ho long does sensoril and ashwagandha stay in your system once you stop taking them?

Sensoril: Sensoril active ingredient is ashwangandha and was studied with a double blind placebo controlled study with 98 subjects who did state their energy level, stress and cognition improved over two months of use. How long it last is not stated but in my experience, the indian ginseng last only a few days to 2 weeks in the system before it is completely washed out.

Yes: Ashwagandha is a very safe and well-tolerated herb with many benefits that has been used for thousands of years. It has been subject to many research studies. Can ashwagandha cause a severe liver reaction?

Can ashwagandha cause a severe liver reaction?

Of course: Especially if what's in the 'natural herbal pill' isn't really the 'exotic Indian herb that is so good for you.' Phony herbal medicines are a very common cause of liver damage and even failure. I trust other causes of liver damage were considered and ruled out. Best wishes.

Will taking ashwagandha cause problems when taking hypertension meds?

Doctor supervision!: If you take any over the counter supplements and are taking prescription medications, you should do so with your doctor's knowledge and supervision. Ashwaghanda can raise your thyroid levels, especially if you are taking thyroid medication. Some otc supplements can have devastating side effects when taken with prescription meds, so only do with your doctor's supervision!
