However, one can only do this with drugs for which there is a blood test for. ...Read more

If I take a medication not prescribed to me will it show up on a employment drug test?

If I take a medication not prescribed to me will it show up on a employment drug test?

Possibly: It depends on whether they are testing for it or not. Whether it's prescribed or not, if your employer doesn't allow you to take it due to its adversely affecting your job, you will still get pinched if it shows up on your test. Besides that, taking a medication "not prescribed" to you is rarely a good idea. ...Read more

If you have been precribed a medication in the last four months and you are drug tested and come up positive for that in a drug test can they hold that against you?

Depends: If you are in a safety-sensitive job, like a bus driver or operating dangerous machinery, then taking a potentially impairing medication (like opioids or tranquillizers) without informing your employer may be a problem. In general, if you are not in that kind of job, most employers are not testing for prescription drugs anyway, and a prescription should be all you need if there are questions. ...Read more

If you have giardia and are on medication for that but have not gotten the test results yet-can you also take immodium?

Be careful with meds: Imodium (loperamide) is not a 'cure all' and I actually prefer my patients NOT to take it unless absolutely necessary. It seems also ur diagnosis is still in question -do u or do u not have Giardia? Diarrhea is 'good' in a way, since the body is getting rid of germs. Recently completed medication for roundworm (ascariasis), when should we do tests to see the results of outcome by medication?

Recently completed medication for roundworm (ascariasis), when should we do tests to see the results of outcome by medication?

Mebendazole is given over 3 days (100 mg PO q 12h x 3 days), and many other meds, like Albendazole only need one dose (400 mg po). That seems to be all unless re-infected. ...Read more
