Arthritis On Spec Scan
Ct of kidneys, MRI and plain xray of lumb spine, all normal.Still have low back pain. On initial pl xray 2.4x2.1mm cyst was on rt ovary.Cld be cancer?
Unlikely: Cancer is pretty low down the list of possibilities. The ovarian cyst is a common and normal finding and it is really unlikely that it has anything to do with your low back pain. Low back pain is a very nonspecific symptom with numerous causes, so it may take a while to figure it out. ...Read more

Male 34 cumadin patient with on and off gross hematuria. Ct scan showed 1mm cal in bladder, cytology and cytoscopy (no cal located) came back normal.?
Here are some ...: Your reported evaluation for recurrent gross hematuria is clinically sufficient. But, conducting emergent cystoscopy right at the time seeing gross bloody urine may help approximate or verify the origin of bleeding if personal / professional collaboration is available. Beyond that, one has to adopt, adapt to, and cope with what they have and live on. No cure but modify to live on. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

If Ana is negative do I need Ana profile hve joint pain on weight bearing rheumatologist hve noanswer tsh nuclear bone scan normal no swelling in join?
Use of test: The ANA has very limited use as a screening test. Nuclear scans are helpful in distinguishing inflammatory conditions (lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, myositis, etc.) versus non-inflammatory conditions. Pain with weight bearing and the lack of swelling suggest a mechanical cause. X-rays, MRI, and other tests may be more helpful than blood tests. ...Read more
Would anything show on MRI that wouldn't show on xray or ct scan with no dye.Swollen painful luq for 4 months. On and below ribs. Clear ct and xray.
LUQ pain: There are many things that can cause left upper quadrant pain. If an x-ray and a CT scan have been negative, it is doubtful that the next test would be an MRI. It would be more likely that an endoscopy or some other way to visualize the upper digestive tract would be more appropriate. Talk to your doctor about the next step if your symptoms continue. Good luck. ...Read more
Yes: Compression fracture of the spine is when the vertebral body (bone of the spine) has collapsed on itself. While the bone may heal, the loss of height of the bone is usually still seen and an should be apparent on CT imaging if that bone is included on the exam. However may need to have images reviewed in the sagittal and coronal planes for it to be seen. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

Ultrasound etc showed cyst on my R Ovary, 5.3 cm, CT scan results (non specific presacral mass) What does this mean? Nurse said MRI will be scheduled
Ovaries can enlarge: for a number of reasons. Some of them can be benign (like a cyst), but some are more serious, unfortunately. Without seeing your images, we can't provide a diagnosis. Your doctor has ordered MRI because US and CT did not allow the radiologist to confidently tell benign from disease. On a CT scan it showed moderate cortical atrophy of my kidneys, positive ANA test, nephrologist said the Sono was ok. Should I have further testing?
Is nephrologist good: If the nephrologist is good to go with the results of the tests and what needs to be done then, I would say follow his/her lead. My guess is you've done plenty of tests....time to let your doctors analyze all the tests and come up with a good plan. ...Read more
Follow up CT: The importance of the findings may depend on why your ct scan was done. Mri shows three lobulations in bone above knee. Bone scan says everything ok. How could mri and bone scan show two different results?
Different studies: The meaning of "lobulations" in the bone on an MRI study is uncertain. This may mean an osteophyte, cortical thickening, old trauma, a normal variant, or something else. The bone scan measures bone chemistry and activity such as repair of the bone. When the bone scan is normal with these findings on MRI, it means normal bone chemistry, and indicates a none serious problem. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
