Yes: Viibryd (vilazodone hydrochloride) is a new class of antidepressant. I have found it useful for anxiety as well as depression. It has different side effects than the others so might benefit people who didn't tolerate others well. Might be useful: Although Cyproheptadine is nominally an anti-histamine, it does have seratonin antagonistic effects, and, has been best used as a migraine preventative in years past. Since it is cheap, could try it, but likely should start low dose and aim for about 4mg every 6 hrs. May take about two weeks to decide success at the higher dose. ...Read more

TCA: Tca are classic for neuropathic pain - sciatica for example. Any of the ones u mentioned may be quite eefective - and cheap. They are not without side effects - dry mouth, constipation, sedation. Any of the ones u mentioned can be effective. I personally like amytryptilline - 10mg at night - as mentioned all will work. Some are, yes.: Looking at receptor inhibition profiles (lab data) we can see that some do indeed block histamine receptors. Older ones in the tca class (elavil, anafranil, etc), trazodone and even a more modern one like Remeron (mirtazapine) do so which can lead to increased sleepiness and appetite.
