I have RX hydroquinone cream to fade old comedones. It lightens my skin as well. Will it also prevent more acne or does it work as a lightener only?
Lightener only: Hydroquinone is a bleaching agent which can reduce the appearence of hyperpigmented areas ( dark spots) on your face from acne. It doesn't have any action against acne itself, however. You'll need an over the counter benzoyl peroxide to start with first line, 5% or even 10% wash daily.
