Treatment depends on which systems are affected and usually by a specialist. ...Read more

I want to get rid of double chin and belly, hip and thigh fat. Suggest me a diet plan and a checklist which I should follow.?

Remember: There is no specific way to "spot" lose body fat. Like gaining fat mass, losing fat mass is generally governed by your genetics(unless you chose to utilize medical treatments like liposuction/etc). While I'd love to create a more specific diet plan to aid you in your endeavor, this is very difficult to do in this limited space. Consider a nutritionist for more detailed info or a live consult! ...Read more

Could I take amino acids for recovery from training (wrestling, strength and conditioning) without gaining weight?

Yes: Amino acid pills or powders have a specific calorie content, but it is usually small. Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins such as those found in lean meat. Supplements are not likely to provide any benefit beyond a balanced menu including meat, dairy, eggs, beans and rice. I suggest you do a little research on real food sports nutrition. Gaining weight is NORMAL at 16, allow it! ...Read more

How can strength training prior to a spinal cord injury (paralysis) affect recovery?

If my mma training finishes at 10pm should I eat fast burning carbohidrates after it to promote muscle recovery? O shouldn't I, because it's too late?

Low glycemic index: Post-workout you need protein for muscle growth and recovery, carbs — but preferentially low glycemic index carbs — to replace your glycogen stores for your next workout, and hydration to replace electrolytes and water lost with sweating. You don't want to eat too many calories before sleep, but you also want your body to recover well for your next round of training. ...Read more

Donut pillow: The most important thing right now is to keep pressure off the wound and heal the wound. One option is to sit on a pillow with the center cut out — a donut. My arms are sore from weight training 4 days ago, is there a way to speed up muscle recovery so I can build muscle faster and train more often?

Resistance Training: You should fatigue muscles when weight training but remember to do cardio for at least 15 minutes to warm muscles and prevent tears. Also do not do same muscle group two days in a row, you may be using too much weight too quickly. Have a protein supplement after you work out as this will help muscle repair, take a few days off and return using lighter weights for your first few workouts. ...Read more

Orif and bone graft to web b fx recovery time and when I'm back on my feet is there any weight training exercises I should avoid and for how long?

Depends on healing: If you have has a bone graft, then likely you had a pretty bad fracture. Healing time depends on serial x-rays that show incorporation of graft and bone healing. Conditions such as osteoporosis and tobacco use may prolong this healing time. Generally 6-8 weeks for healing followed by physical therapy. I usually would avoid any ankle weight training excercises for 10-12 weeks. Ask your surgeon! ...Read more

I was diagnosed with a linear skull fracture in my left temporo paretial bone. Recovery time? And when can I resume football/weight training/gym? Thx

6 - 12 weeks: Healing is a gradual process, as filling a glass pouring liquid. If there was no brain damage, no broken blood vessels inside your skull, and no loss of consciousness, I believe you could start easy weight training now. Maximum strength of the fracture healing I estimate at 12 weeks, so I would not do full unrestricted contact sports for 12 weeks, and then only if you are symptom free. ...Read more
