You need a full exam labs urine C&S. 24 urine for stone analysis kidney ultrasound or CT. And usually empiric antibiotic therapy pending the results. I would not put: It past your period to cause all kinds of weird symptoms. However any change in your menstrual symptoms warrants a pregnancy test and recheck in 1-2 weeks. If they are both negative, and you do not feel morning sickness, then watch to see if the axillary (aka fancy term for armpit) pain would go away spontaneously. If you are having pain during the daytime, perhaps it is related to muscular strain. If there are any masses, lymph nodes which can be felt, I would suggest a follow up visit with your PCP. This problem is unlikely to be related to the flu illness which you had in December.
